I'm back. Friends only. You know the drill. Comment to be added.
I've been plugging this song to everybody whether or not it's their thing. It has been a while since I have had a song have this kind of impact on me... coincidentally (or not) the last song that did was by the same artist.

But seriously, this piece is amazing. The video is simplistic but still stunning. It gives me goosebumps. I think this song gripped me so tightly because it hits so close to home. To me it's so relevent to my life and so personal to me that one wouldn't be shocked to find incredibly similar pieces written in my own little pink book.

Darren Hayes is one of two men on the entire planet to ever take my breath away. He's simply amazing. I can't wait till he starts the US "Secret Tour" for the new album "Secret Codes And Battleships" which will be out a few days before my birthday... I, of course, am ordering any special import printing of the album. This single comes out in the beginning of October and I hope he does a special vinyl printing like he did for "Talk, Talk, Talk" which, you know, was catchy and upbeat... but I wasn't that impressed with it. The video was fun but the song was just "eh." Far from bad... but just not what I would have picked for the first single. "Black Out The Sun" has it all and will likely be the crown jewel in this, undoubtedly stellar album.

"Bloodstained Heart" is sweet and the lyrics struck a chord within me but it didn't give me that "OMG" rush like "Black Out The Sun" and previous songs like "Ocean" (B-side of the digital release of the single "On The Verge Of Something Wonderful" from his 2007 album "This Delicate Thing We've Made") and "Darkness" (from his 2004 album "The Tension and the Spark") and pretty much every live performance of it ever. Good lord, talk about heart-pounding and goosebumps.
